On a Rollercoaster of Baby Boy Fun!

Baby Boy Brown is on the move! He has been so active today. I've been feeling him move off and on for a couple of weeks now, but this is the first time he's just gone crazy and hasn't stopped all day. I kept expecting little flutters and there's a few of those, but mostly it's a "riding a rollercoaster" sensation. Love it! Keep on keepin' on, my son.
Rusty and I have also decided on a name, but as most of y'all are aware, we're choosing to reveal the name only once our kiddo arrives. To keep you all guessing, I can tell you that Baby Boy Brown's first name starts with an S and his middle name is Don, after Rusty's middle name, Larry's middle name and Larry's dad's first name.

Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails!

We're having a boy! Rusty and I found out this morning that we are expecting a little boy. A little boy with rather big feet and the cutest, sweetest little nose. Everything is perfect, healthy and exactly as it should be. He was just a wigglin' and jumpin' around in there and would move his arms up to his face and then wave them around and squirm some more. I do believe we're going to be blessed with a hyperactive little boy, just like his Daddy! When we went in for the 'money shot' he had his feetsies crossed one on top of the other and the technician said, "Well, you can see his feet are one on top of the other and his legs are drawn up but what we need him to do is straighten out his legs and spread them!" And just like that, the baby did! We have a very cooperative little man! Pictures are forthcoming as soon as we can get them scanned. Thanks for all the well-wishes from everyone!

Ok, here's all pictures of our son!

Here he is, all stretched out, relaxing with his hands behind his head:

Bump and Roll and a Bundle of Nerves!

So tomorrow is the big day! We go in at 9am for our ultrasound/checkup where we should be able to find out if we're having a son or a daughter. Boy or Girl. Pink or Blue. We're both just so anxious about this appointment! I don't care if I have to do jumping jacks to get the baby to cooperate, we are bound and determined to know the sex of our baby by 9:10 tomorrow! We both have absolutely no preference for a boy or girl, we just want to KNOW already!
In other news, I might have felt the baby move earlier this morning. I know. I know. It's really early to tell. I'm only 16 weeks and 5 days. But, I was bending over and felt this really strange, bump/roll sensation in my abdomen. I'm going to just call it baby-movement since I can't explain it otherwise. I think the baby was saying, "Stand up, Mom! You're squiching me!" and gave me a little poke to emphasize the point.
So many exciting things happening this week! The Big Appointment tomorrow and Kolby and Marli's wedding this weekend! So excited to see everyone and to know that my brother has found the perfect woman for him! Until tomorrow!!!!!!

Mossy Oak Maternity? Nope.

Rusty and I spent the weekend at Daddy's since we heard the weather was going to be great for hunting. We packed up all our gear and headed out Friday after work. Woke up nice and early Saturday morning, all ready to get decked out in my camo gear. Well, who'd a thunk it? My brand spankin' new insulated pants I bought at the end of last hunting season didn't fit. Oh the length was fine, there was just a bit more belly this year than last. So I just pulled my sweater down over the unbuttoned, unzipped front of my pants and resigned myself to having hitch up my pants every 4 steps. At least my insulated jacket still fits.
Off to the blind! Here I am walking down the road at our farm from the truck to the blind: Gun on shoulder, Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tart in one hand, flashlight in the other hand, a-hitchin' up my pants every fourth step. Oh the joys of hunting while pregnant.
Get to the blind. Rusty did an excellent job of sealing it up last year, so it was toasty and dry on the inside. Hand all my gear up to Rusty and proceed to climb the 1 1/2 foot ladder to get in the blind. Manage the ladder just fine. Small, undersized door to get into the blind? Not so much. I normally have to stoop way over, get one foot in and hoist myself up. Even at only 15 weeks, there is no stooping and hoisting happening. Finally get wiggled into the blind. We have a GREAT morning hunt. We didn't end up shooting anything but we saw lots of great deer and two that, had they been close enough for my 22-250, would have made the trip back to Daddy's in the back of the truck.
All in all, a great weekend! However, I sincerely think there is a market for Mossy Oak Maternity Wear.

Bumpity Bump Bump!

I'm happy to report that I have progressed beyond the 'beer gut' stage! At almost 15 weeks, BB (Baby Brown) is clearly making him or herself known to the outside world. As evidenced in my pic from this weekend:
We had our last Dr's appointment on November 3rd where we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Our next appointment is on December 1st and it's THE BIG ONE: by 9:30am on December 1, 2009, Rusty and I will know whether we will be having a son or a daughter! As long as the baby cooperates, that is. I've taken to giving him or her stern talking-to's about cooperating during the ultrasound. So far, I haven't really had any gut feelings about whether we're having a boy or girl; I was thinking boy at first, but only because I've always said that I want all my kids to have an older brother, but I had some girl dreams for a while, too. So who knows! All we want now is a happy, healthy baby.

Plus, this next visit will be the second time we'll get to see our baby. Here is what he or she looked like at 7 weeks:
Let the countdown begin until we know pink or blue! 16 days....
